World Economic Forum and YouTube: Make Your Voice Heard

World leaders and thinkers, from Bill Gates to Bono, will be attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on January 29, 2009. They will be meeting to address some of the key issues facing our planet: the economy, ethics, environment, and politics. The theme for the forum is “Shaping the Post-Crisis World.”

Through YouTube.com, you can submit a video weighing in on these contentious issues, and possibly win an opportunity to attend the forum in Davos:

Here are the FOUR questions you can respond to…

  1. When the world leaders meet in Davos, I wonder who will mention the tragedy that is happening in Somalia. Character assassination and propaganda is an old tactic, but the recent reports from the mainstream media are not telling the entire truth about the situation with the Somali pirates.
Once again the super powers are abusing their power and turning their heads away. This is a modern expression of survival and colonization. To protect the shipments of oil from the Middle East and finished goods, the navy of many super powers are fighting the people of Somalia –yes, some of them gangsters– and their attempt to survive in a world that prefer not to know too much about the misery of this people and their environment.

A great report by Johann Hari from the London Independent can be found here:
